From 3 to 8 October 2023, during World Space Week, we hosted the first edition of InSpace, a symposium on where space technology is heading. Sixteen engineering students came to Forlì from across Europe.
We started at the University of Bologna's Tecnopolo, where PhD students and researchers showed us the space labs and the experiments they are running. Most of the following days were talks:
- Marcello Coradini, co-founder and CEO of Space Systems Solutions, on going from scientist to company founder
- Dave Anilkumar, former coordinator of the Innovation and Technology Transfer unit at the Italian Space Agency, with advice on careers in the space sector
- Prof. Alfredo Locarini, CEO of Nautilus, on asteroid mining and its risks
- Andrea Togni on tracking satellites in deep space
- Alessandro Lotti, who introduced neural networks through a hands-on Python workshop
Sitael and Alten, our main sponsor, presented career and internship opportunities. We also made time for Forlì itself, with a guided tour of the city and the Delio Piccioni exhibition at the San Domenico Museums.
Thanks to everyone who took part, spoke or helped out.
