The idea for a EUROAVIA local group in Forlì goes back to 2017, but it took until 16 January 2019 to make it official. On 13 April 2024 we celebrated five years at the University of Bologna's Teaching Hub in Forlì.
President Francesco Cuttitta opened the day, joined by representatives of the Emilia-Romagna region, the City of Forlì and the University of Bologna. Leo Buchner and Amanda Román Navarro, President and Treasurer of the EUROAVIA International Board, talked about the association and its network. Three former presidents of our local group, Elia Ghisellini, Andrea Curatolo and Elena Tonucci, presented the History Book we put together for the occasion.
Three panels ran during the day:
- Orbiting Opportunities, on the space economy, with Lorenzo Ciapetti (Antares), Prof. Fabrizio Ponti (University of Bologna) and Damiano Accurso (NPC Spacemind), moderated by Giulia Bubbolini.
- AI Horizons, with Vincenzo Basco (Thales Alenia Space) and Prof. Dario Modenini (University of Bologna), moderated by Martina Cavallucci (IRST).
- Women looking for Space, with Maria Pia Falaschetti (University of Bologna), Elisabetta Perrotta (Leonardo Elicotteri), Alessandro Curti (Curti S.p.A.) and Nicole Ticchi (She is a Scientist), moderated by Maura Bernabei (ITAER).
Nine organisations had stands at the company fair: EUROAVIA International, Novac, Nanoprom, Cshark, Zephir, NPC Spacemind, Associazione Arma Aeronautica, AIDAA and ITAER. We finished with an aperitivo at Volume café and live music from Over the Pops.
